PE and Sports Premium

The principles by which pupil premium funding is allocated

The Cedars Primary School is dedicated to promoting healthy and active lifestyles and to providing a wide range of Physical Education & sporting opportunities for all of its pupils. The sports premium is being used to develop staff skills in delivering PE and providing additional sporting opportunities for all pupils.

A large portion of the Sport Premium is being used to buy into the enhanced package of the Hounslow School Sport Partnership (Sport Impact). This provides staff with subject specific CPD in sports like gymnastics and multi skills, and is supporting the school’s existing PE leader in planning a longer term vision for PE and Sport in the school. The partnership links the school to local sports clubs, provides access to competitions for the gifted & talented, and organises an annual programme to get more pupils participating in competitive sport.

At The Cedars Primary School sport is encouraged through extra-curricular activities at lunch and after-school.  Activities offered are Multi-sports club, Athletics club and football club, as well as many other activities at playtimes such as basketball.  All clubs are free and are available for every pupil.

The PE and Sport Premium has increased the engagement of both staff and pupils in PE and Sport. Teachers focus on raising pupils’ achievement and developing multi abilities in their PE lessons.
