Remote Education Provision
The Cedars School uses Google Classroom to support remote education when pupils are unable to attend school. Every pupil has their own Google Classroom login and pupils are familiar with using the platform as part of their learning in school.
Where remote education is required, work will be set by the class teacher or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. This will be appropriate to the pupil's age, developmental level and individual needs. Where appropriate, teachers will provide feedback on work through Google Classroom. During any extended periods of absence please contact the school if you do not have technology and we will arrange for a Chromebook to be sent home.
For longer periods of absence, or where a pupil is unable to access online learning, the school will provide additional or alternative resources to support learning at home. These may include printed worksheets and practical activities to develop key skills such as handwriting, fine motor skills, reading, mathematics, communication and independence.
As all pupils at The Cedars School have special educational needs, remote education is planned and adapted with pupils' individual needs in mind. Where appropriate, parents and carers will be supported with resources and guidance to help their child engage with learning at home.
Parents and carers can contact the school for support with remote education through their child's class email address, the school email address (help@cedars.hounslow.sch.uk), or by contacting the school office.
